Laura Truman shows off her skills on the Adult Beverage Podcast

We are extremely excited to add Laura Truman to Adult Beverage Podcast. I know what you are thinking, was she on the Truman Show, NO. Of course, she has been helping folks find their ways to great films from near and far for many years. Her knowledge kept growing while working in stores like Blockbuster, Media Play, and the legendary VisArt where she was an assistant manager for seven years. Her collection is made up of over five thousand movies on DVD’s, VHS, Beta Tapes and even Laser Disk. Yes, young folks, these are real things and they are still floating around out there if you look carefully for them. I can tell you that she brings some humor and one of the best laughs in the business to our podcast. Make sure to give her a big shout out when you see her in person!!!

Podcast 001: Our Wine for the Day is IL POZZO CHIANTI RUFINA RISERVA, 2013

Our first podcast was about The Silence of the Lambs, and so we decided to pair the movie with a lovely Chianti. In this case, we chose IL POZZO CHIANTI RUFINA RISERVA, 2013. This wine is aged in traditional oak barrels to mature and to round out the concentrated berry fruit flavors, and this wine goes well with all typical Italian dishes including Doctor Hannibal Lecter’s favorites.

All-Star Weekend with movies about Basketball, Yes!

Who doesn’t love them some basketball? With NBA All-Star Weekend upon us, we thought it would be great to add a few basketball movies to the mix, so you can dribble and shot from the couch. Which ones are your favorites?

Hoosiers is about old school values, but it’s hard not to finish on top.

Honey, I am home. This film still brings tears to my eyes after all these years. It looks like it they might make a re-make in the future.
How can you not talk about basketball movies without bringing Michael Jordan into the game?
Do you love being Semi-Pro? Do these guys know how to make a name for themselves for sure?
It’s not your average basketball movie, but it will make you jump a little higher.
Since the All-Star Game is in Charlotte, why not watch the movie that was made in Charlotte, N.C.
